UNIOSUN TO INVOLVE IN TRAINING OF SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHERS, STUDENTS

Osun State University is planning a direct and more active involvement in the training of secondary school teachers and students in Osun State.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Labode Popoola made this known on Tuesday, 27thMarch, 2018 while receiving the students and teachers of Osogbo High School on Courtesy visit to the University at the Senate Chamber, Main Campus, Osogbo.

The Vice-Chancellor, who spoke in response to remark by a member of the University Governing Council, Sir Demola Aladekomo on need for the University’s involvement in the training of teachers and students of secondary schools, disclosed that already, the University had won a bid to manage two of the secondary schools in the State, adding that the gesture would be extended to other secondary schools in future.

It will be recalled that the students and teachers of Osogbo High School have been involved in Volunteer Corps projects by rebuilding schools in the State.

Sir Demola Aladekomo who led the team on excursion to the University said the Volunteer Corps had earlier visited the Governor’s office, Ataoja palace and OSBCc the same day.

The team were treated to a comprehensive slide presentation by the Vice-Chancellor showing the University facilities across the six campuses. They were also taken round the Main Campus to have a glimpse of the major facilities of the University.
