TISHIP PROGRAMME KICKS OFF IN UNIOSUN AS HMOs HOLD 3-DAY SENSITISATION FOR STUDENTS
A three-day sensitisation programme on Tertiary
Institution Social Health Insurance Programmes (TISHIP) was held across the
Campuses of the University on Wednesday, 31st January, Thursday, 1st and
Monday, 5th February, 2018.
The programme was conducted by the three approved
Health Maintenance Organisations (HMOs) of the University under the supervision
of the Acting Dean, Student Affairs and TISHIP Committee. It will be recalled
that Management of the University concluded actions on the implementation of
Tertiary Institutions Social Health Insurance Programme in 2017 when it signed
a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the three approved HMOs.
The HMOs namely: United Health Care International,
Mayooit Health Care Limited and Health Stone HMO had earlier been given letters
of engagement to manage the programme for the University in line with the
Federal Government and National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) guidelines on
TISHIP.
United Health Care International which was put in
charge of Osogbo and Ejigbo Campuses, Mayooit Health Care Limited in charge of
Okuku and Ifetedo Campuses and Health Stone HMO in charge of Ikire and
Ipetu-Ijesha Campuses were in December 2016 approved by Management on
recommendations of the TISHIP Committee.
The exercise also included distribution of data forms
by the HMOs to the students who were required to fill the form to be used in
processing their TISHIP Identification Cards. Students who require health
services were instructed to visit the health centre of their respective
Campuses while cases requiring secondary health care delivery would be referred
as appropriate. Students were also informed of the secondary healthcare
providers as recommended by TISHIP Committee and approved by the Management.
The approved secondary healthcare providers include:
Air-force Hospital and Holy Spirit Comprehensive Health Centre at Ipetu-Ijesha
for Ipetu-Ijesha Campus; Olanrewaju Hospital, Okuku and Adventist Medical
Centre, Inisha for Okuku Campus; BMB Hospital, Oke-Baale and LAUTECH Teaching
