EXCITEMENT AS VICE-CHANCELLOR WELCOMES CADFP FELLOW, DR. OLABISI OJO FROM ALBANY STATE UNIVERSITY, GEORGIA USA

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Labode Popoola in company with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration and Development, Prof. Janet Olaitan and other officers of the University welcomed the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Programme (CADFP) Fellow: Dr. Olabisi O. Ojo, associate professor of biology from Albany State University, Georgia USA on Sunday 13th May, 2018.

Osun State University was selected by the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program (CADFP) to host an African Diaspora scholar from the United States to work with on a collaborative project on curriculum co-development, postgraduate student mentoring and research capacity building in microbial genomics.
Dr. Ojo will collaborate with Dr. Sunday B. Akinde (CADFP Host), associate professor of the Department of Microbiology and director of multidisciplinary research laboratory in association with Dr. Bamidele A. Iwalokun of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology Division, Nigerian Institute of Medical Research, Lagos on the proposed project.

In his address, the Vice-Chancellor said the CADFP project is in line with the vision and mission of the university. He believed that the effort will have positive impact on our students, faculty members, the University and the larger academic community. He promised that the management will ensure successful implementation of all the proposed activities.

Also, in attendance to welcome the CADFP fellow were Prof. Anthony Kola-Olusanya (Director, Inter-Campus and Public Affairs), Dr. Amos Popoola (Dean, Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences) and Dr. Folasade M. Adeyemi (Head, Department of Microbiology). Dr. Ojo is expected to complete his assignment within three months.
