OSUN STATE 2018 MERIT AWARD: UNIOSUN IMTC STAFF, AKINFENWA EMERGES MOST PRODUCTIVE TERTIARY INSTITUTION STAFF

Osun
State University recorded another success story on Thursday, 30th August, 2018,
following emergence of a UNIOSUN staff member, Mr. Timothy Ola Akinfenwa as the
Most Productive Tertiary Institution
Staff in the State of Osun.
Akinfenwa,
a Programmer in the Information Management Technology Centre (IMTC) of the
university, received the State Merit Award alongside thirty-six (36) others
listed as recipients of various awards, including the Most Outstanding
Politician which went to the former Governor, State of Osun from 1999 to 2003,
Chief Adebisi Akande and the Most Loyal Deputy Governor given to the Deputy
Governor of the State, Otunba Grace Titi-Laoye Tomori.
The
event, tagged State of Osun Merit Awards, was held amidst the 2018 National
Productivity Day celebration featuring a Public Service Lecture titled,
"Tax Culture and Development: A Case Study of State of Osun"
delivered by Dr. Adedokun S. A. of the Department of Economics, Obafemi Awolowo
University (OAU), Ile-Ife.
In
his remarks, the Visitor to the university and Governor of the State of Osun,
Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola said the purpose of the awards was to encourage people
of the state to encourage diligence for better productivity among the workers,
traditional rulers, artisans, traders and political appointees in the state. He
congratulated all the award recipients, even as he described them as deserving
of the awards.
The
event was graced by the Vice-Chancellor of Osun State University, Professor
Labode Popoola; the Registrar, Mr. G. A. A. Shittu and the Bursar, Mr. Rotimi
Feruke among other eminent personalities from within and outside the State of
Osun.
