US VARSITY DON LAUDS UNIOSUN VC ON DEDICATION TO ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

A UNIOSUN Visiting Don and Microbiologist from Albani State University, United States of America, Dr. Olabisi Ojo on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 lauded the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Labode Popoola for his commitment to the pursuit of academic excellence in the University.

Dr. Ojo, who spoke at a get-together organised by the University Management as a send off in his honour, described Professor Popoola as a blessing to the university even as he expressed satisfaction on the level of hospitality he had enjoined in his three-month stay with the University.

Dr Ojo's visit is part of the ongoing effort by the university management to expose the staff and students to standard training and teaching techniques through partnership with world-class universities across the globe.

In the last three months, Dr. Ojo has been involved in training and mentorship of staff and students of the Department of Microbiology, Faculty Basic and Applied Sciences of the University, even as he organised a three-day workshop which exposed his fellow Microbiologists in the Department to modern teaching techniques and use of new equipments in the field.

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor described Dr. Ojo's contributions to the training and development of staff and students of the Department as both useful and impactful even as he appreciated him for counting the University worthy of his long visit in his academic career.

The get-together, which held at the B.J. Diners, Osogbo, ended with a group photograph of Dr. Ojo and the management team, which include the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor J. O. Olaitan, Registrar, Mr. Gafar Adebayo Shittu, Bursar, Mr. Rotimi Feruke, the Director of Inter-Campus and Public Affairs, Professor Anthony Kola-Olusanya, Director of Quality Assurance, Professor Adetunji Kehinde, Provost, College of Science, Engineering and Technology, Professor Samson Akinola, Acting Dean, Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences, Dr. Israel Oyewole, Acting Director of Research and Linkages, Dr. Amos Popoola, Acting Director, Multipurpose Laboratory, Dr. Sunday Akinde, Assistant Registrar, Public Relations, Mr. Jibola Oyekunle, Coordinator, Department of Microbiology, Dr. Muibat Folashade and Mr. Owolabi Ayesanmi from IMTC.
