UNIOSUN HOLDS 2-DAY LEADERSHIP TRAINING WORKSHOP FOR STUDENTS

Osun State University through the Student Affairs Office recently organised a 2-day leadership training workshop for sixty (60) student leaders drawn from across the six campuses of the university.

The workshop which held at the Western Sun Hotel, Ede from 10th - 11th August, 2018 was declared open by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Labode Popoola

The Ag. Dean, Student's Affairs Unit of Osun State University, Dr. Abiona Oluseye in his welcome address appreciated the Vice - Chancellor, Prof. Labode Popoola and the University Management for approving the organization of the Training programme which was the first of its kind in the history of the University.

He enjoined the students leaders to maximally utilize the opportunities of the training workshop in equipping themselves for greater leadership roles in their various future endeavours. He later implored the Management of the University to sustain the organization of the training workshop so as to give many more students, the opportunity of being exposed to the rudiments of 

In his own remark, Dr. Ajibola Basiru, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, State of Osun who was invited to speak to the students in his capacity as a former student leader took the students to memory lane of struggles of the 90's, when students leaders in conjunction with University lecturers strived to improve the polity of Nigeria nation.

He informed the gathering of future leaders that all what the need to achieve greatness is to be have focus, be determined, courageous and above all, to build and sustain integrity in whatever they do. He told the participants the story of how he acquired his first University degree certificate after twelve (12) years without failing a single course via hard work, determination and perseverance. He later enjoined them to take maximum advantage of the training opportunities.
